Wedding DJ Hertfordshire

DJ for Civil Partnership in Milton Keynes

Return to 'Real Weddings'

Emma and Sharron came to us as Emma was an acquaintance of Laurence (one of our DJs), and had been told by colleagues how happy they had been with the service we provided.

The Venue: Emma and Sharron had their ceremony and reception at Horwood House just outside Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

Horwood House is a country house wedding venue and hotel with large, landscaped grounds.  Although it is an old country house, the function rooms have clean, modern décor, with a capacity of 160 for the wedding breakfast and 250 for the evening.

What they wanted: Emma and Sharron employed us to supply their evening disco from 7pm to midnight.  Due to the room being re-set between the wedding breakfast and the evening reception, and guests being out of the room during this time, no early set up of the equipment was required.  We installed simple, yet effective, equipment with very clean lines to match the surroundings.

Evening / The Party: With 170 people of all ages attending -  from children through to guests aged 70+, it was important to ensure that everyone was catered for and a wide variety of music played.

Laurence got the crowd going early on, and managed to have just about every guest on the floor at some point during the night.

With lots of arm-waving, there were plenty of animated dancers throughout the evening!

First dance / Other Special Dances and Music: A friend of the couple sang their first dance.  As pre-arranged (we always try and speak direct with any other planned entertainment), the singer supplied her own backing track which we played through our PA system and we also supplied her with a microphone.

Emma and Sharron didn't have any other special dances or requests  - except for Bon Jovi, Living on a Prayer, but to cater for everyone in attendance, a wide range of music was played including 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, current and recent pop, dance, disco, indie, old skool, R&B, rock, rock'n'roll and rockabilly, with limited amounts of soul, motown and cheese (as requested by Emma & Sharron).

Comments: When Emma saw Laurence a couple of weeks after the reception, she was still enthusing about what a great night they had and said that lots of their guests had said that it was the best wedding party they had been to.
