Wedding DJ Hertfordshire

DJ for Bohemian Wedding in London

Return to 'Real Weddings'

Heather & Dave wanted a wedding that was different from the norm, so chose a small, warren-like bohemian café in London for their post-wedding party, and, after looking at many DJs, they decided that we could best fulfil their needs.

Venue: Heather and Dave didn't want a formal wedding breakfast and reception, but opted instead for a post-ceremony evening party for their friends and family in Café Provençal, Herne Hill, London. This café is broken up in to several small areas, jam-packed with trinkets, and with hardly an inch of wall showing as so many pictures and other objects are hung on them. Parking and access are also difficult, but it was perfectly suited to create the right atmosphere and reflect the happy couple's personality.

What they wanted: Although Heather & Dave wanted an experienced wedding DJ and a great, fun-filled party, they didn't want a DJ who would just give them the same-old tired, cheesy, songs that they had seen at other weddings. Space and access were also serious considerations as the equipment set up needed to be compact. They trawled through, and enquired of numerous DJs, but they chose us because they felt that we really understood and could supply the party they really wanted.

The Party: Right from the very start at 6pm, it was clear that the Bride, Groom and all their friends would be great fun, and that we were in for a good night! As a surprise for Heather & Dave, we created a personalised gobo with their initials and hearts. We managed to find a small, clear space on the red wall of the café and projected the slowly rotating custom light there. Everyone thought it was a wonderful, personal touch. Heather told us that Dave didn't normally dance, but that night, Dave was found more on the dance floor than he had ever been in his life!

Comments: Afterwards, Heather and Dave wrote “Thanks so much for making our wedding reception so enjoyable. From the photos you took, we can tell that everyone had such a great time! It was great to hear from you the week before the event as everything up to that point had been done via email and online (which made our lives so much easier as we could log in any time to make any amendments etc.). From beginning to end, you have been nothing but helpful and professional. The gobo you made for us added that special touch too and was a complete surprise! I really can't thank you enough!”
